Journal Articles

Manuscript submissions should be uploaded on the journal's website as single Microsoft Word files, with the author's surname in the file name. Please select Article Submission from the Choose One Option drop-down menu in the form to direct submissions or questions about submissions to Dr. Porter. Do not send a PDF file. Submissions typically total 5000 to 7500 words, including notes and Works Cited. Manuscripts should be double-spaced, using 12-point Times New Roman font. Please note that the editing process may result in revisions that lengthen the essay. SiPC is indexed in the annual MLA International Bibliography, and MLA documentation is required. Authors should secure all necessary copyright permissions before submitting material. SiPC uses blind peer review. The editor reserves the right to make stylistic changes on accepted manuscripts.

Book Reviews

Any scholar who wishes to review a book should contact the Book Reviews Editor, Clare Douglass Little. Please select Book Review from the Choose One Option drop-down menu in the form to direct email or review to Dr. Little.

Those whose work is unfamiliar to the editor may wish to send a CV or describe relevant reviewing experience within a discipline. Reviewers may suggest a book to be reviewed or request to be assigned one from among those sent to the editor.

Members of the Popular Culture Association in the South who have recently published a book are also invited to inform the Book Reviews Editor.

Reviews should be approximately 500-700 words and should be uploaded as a Microsoft Word file. The contributor's surname should be in the file name. In some cases, review essays of 1000-1200 words may be assigned. Queries are welcome.
